Coral Web Tool Guidelines


How to use webboard:

  • Type in http://coral.wcupa.edu in your browser
  • Click on the “teams” drop down menu and choose your team number
  • Click on “webboard”
  • Enter your user name and password and then click “ok”
  • Type in your name, subject, and message
  • Click on “Post Message”

*Note: Remember to type your name and whom you are sending a message to in the name box.

How to use coral reef chat room:

  • Type in http://coral.wcupa.edu in your browser
  • Click on the “teams” drop down menu and choose your team number
  • Click on “Visit the CORAL Reef”
  • Enter your username and password
  • Type in the text box
  • Hit “send” to send message
*Note: The first time you log onto CORAL Reef, you will need to choose your own username and password. To do this fill in that information in the appropriate boxes and enter your email address. Click on the “agree” box and then click on the “register details” box. You will get a screen that looks identical to the one you were just in except that it says that your registration was successful. Click on the link that says “log in” and then enter your username and password again.

How to use fileman:

  • Type in http://coral.wcupa.edu in your browser
  • Click on the “teams” drop down menu and choose your team number
  • Click on fileman

To upload a file:

  • Click on “upload” in the tools bar
  • At the bottom of the screen click on “browse”
  • Choose the file you want to upload
  • Click on the “upload” button next to the “browse” button

To make a new directory (like a file folder)

  • Click on “New Dir” in the tools bar
  • At the bottom, name your directory
  • Click on “create”

*Note: Be sure to create names of files that are simple. Do not use names that have symbols or spaces or underlines in them. Do not make the names too long. Otherwise you could run into trouble uploading files. Save Word documents in earlier versions of Word (not the most recent). Also, students have trouble opening rtf files in fileman so do not upload that type of document.
